Important Dates & Deadlines

January 1

  • All horses are considered 1 year older on this date.
  • Regional Club officers for current year must be submitted to APHA office (or within 30 days of election)
  • President announces the Directors Nominating Committee  

January 12

  • Allocations and recommendation forms for Directors mailed to Regional Clubs  

January 15  

  • Postmark deadline for submission of rule change proposals to APHA office  

February 1

  • Postmark deadline for submission of membership to receive a APHA Director Election ballot  

February 15

  • Postmark deadline for submission of National Director recommendations from Regional Clubs and individual recommendations. *If you do not know how your club makes recommendations for National Directors, please contact the club president.  This should be addressed in the club's by-laws  

February 24

  • Director recommendations must be received by APHA  

May 1

  • President announces the Nominating Committee for National Officers and Executive Committee
  • Deadline for receipt of members’ ballots, regardless of postmark  

May/June

  •  Workshop dates will vary but the event is held annually the first weekend after the Memorial Day Holiday  

                      *The names of newly elected Directors will be announced during Workshop  

June 1

  • Deadline for Gold Star & President’s Club of Distinction Contest  

June 30

  • First weanling registration deadline  

June/July

  • Summer World Championship Paint Horse Show, Fort Worth, Texas  

Sept/Oct

  • Convention dates will vary, but the event is held annually the first weekend in October. New APHA officers are elected, proposed rule changes are voted on, and new Directors take office

September 30

  • Second weanling registration deadline

November

  • Fall World Championship Paint Horse Show, Fort Worth, Texas

November 30

  • Stallion breeding reports must be postmarked on or before this date.
  • Breeders’ Trust stallion subscription deadline for following year’s breeding season

December 31

  • Third weanling registration deadline  
  • Breeders’ Trust stallion subscription deadline for current year’s breeding season
  • National Director allocations are based upon total membership (regular & life members) as of this date

  • AjPHA Regional Club officer updates due to APHA
  • AjPHA Director election nominations due to APHA from Regional Clubs  

February 1

  • AjPHA Director election ballots mailed to all AjPHA members  

March 1  

  • APHF Scholarship Applications due.  *Entry forms available at www.aphfoundation.org
  • AjPHA Director election ballots due to APHA  

March 31  

  • AjPHA National Directors named

April 1

  • Contact the Director of Youth Activities if you plan to run for the AjPHA Executive Committee  

May/June

  • APHA Workshop dates will vary but the event is held annually the first weekend after the Memorial Day Holiday  

Sept/Oct

  • Youth Leadership Conference held during the APHA Convention, usually held annually the first weekend in October.
