Board Of Directors
The Board of Directors is one of the Association’s most powerful bodies. As a group, the directors decide policy and direction for the Association. Though the Executive Committee is ultimately responsible for all of the APHA’s actions, the directors have the power and authority to make, amend, repeal and enforce the rules and regulations of the Association.
Specific Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities of the Board of Directors are as follows:
- Elects the Executive Committee and officers from the body of the Board of Directors.
- Regulates the by-laws and rules affecting the registration of horses.
- Has authority to make, amend, repeal and enforce the rules and regulations of the Association and all other details relating to the general purposes of the Association.
- Regulates the stud book listing, awarding of Association titles, conducting shows, contests, exhibitions, races, sales and social functions.
- Regulates the rules governing the procedure of admission, classification, suspension and expulsion of members.
- Has authority to create and empower general or special committees.
- Ratifies, revises or amends all actions of the Executive Committee.
All actions of the Board of Directors are subject to revision or amendment by the members at any special or regular meeting of the membership, provided that written notice of any intention to revise or amend has been published in the Paint Horse Journal at least 30 days in advance of that meeting.
